Scheduling & Budgeting for Series & Films
A Cinevesture Workshop Announcement | 14-16 June 2023 | Mumbai
Scheduling and budgeting are a taxing affair in the production business. But they are, arguably, the most important parts of any film business plan as well.
Errors in scheduling and budgeting can impact the fate of a film in many ways. Get the schedule wrong and your film will suffer – either from loss of quality or remain unfinished because you have run out of time and budget. One hears of film and web series projects being shelved due to such issues. In an industry that is growing exponentially every year, it would be logical to focus on these fundamentals and upgrade our skills in these areas.
The Cinevesture Workshop on Budgeting & Scheduling
Cinevesture is organising a three-day workshop in Mumbai to address this vital aspect of the film business. Conducted previously as well, it elicited fantastic feedback and served as a game changer for participants. The backbone of this workshop are Steve Clark-Hall and Brian Donovan. Their impressive range of work over the years is testimonial to the respect they command in the global film fraternity.
Details of the workshop, and the process to signing up for the same, are here.
Benefits of the Workshop
Learning and mastering scheduling & budgeting films/ series in the workshop would bring several benefits on the table, including the following -
Enable you to ensure smooth functioning of a production.
Manage effective synchronisation between the script, schedule, and budgets to ensure the production plan is as realistic as possible.
You would learn to access all information through cloud-based, real time data and thus manage multiple production budgets efficaciously.
You can do periodical check-ins (as often as you want) to ensure that you are on schedule and within budget.
Collating reports and information pertaining to your schedules and production budgets would now be done with considerable ease.
Tools used in the workshop
For those of us who work on excel formats to prepare budgets, the workshop would entail transitioning to Movie Magic Budgeting 10 (MMB10) along with Movie Magic Scheduling 6 (MMS6). Once mastered, the combined use of both these tools would ensure an efficacy of time and processes that is almost unimaginable for those using them for the first time.
All participants would be given temporary free access to the Movie Magic tools to facilitate ease of learning.
